Welcome to The Young Narrative!

My name is Melanie Young and I would like to welcome you to my blog, The Young Narrative. As a 27 year old young lady living in downtown Denver, I strive to find the creative ways to explore my city, travel the country, and discover what is out there in the in the world while staying within the budget of a millennial.

Whether I am entertaining at home, seeking deals around town, rejuvenating in the mountains, or searching for new experiences, I do what I can to make my adventures better than ever. The options are endless!

I grew up in Southern California, moved to Salt Lake City in my adolescence, and currently live in Downtown Denver. I’ve worked in political advocacy, hoping to expand acceptance and love throughout my community and country. Diversity is what I believe makes the world a better place which drives me to explore different regions, cultures, and religions all around the world. I’ve always felt that travel helps you diversify your beliefs, understand where others come from and build a world view filled with love and understanding.

With my fiance Robb, we hope to travel the world and take in all of the culture along the way. So far, we’ve made it on a European backpacking adventure, explored Caribbean paradises, and ventured all across the United States.

One of the biggest things we like to do is camp and explore the outdoors, regardless of the season. Winter? Ski season. Summer? Time to camp.

Nothing in the world can rejuvenate the spirits as well as the fresh air and natures perfumes of the season, well if the allergies are kept in check. I hope to expand my reach, strengthen my outdoor talents, and share it with my readers like you.
